WWF

Our house enjoys a good wrestling match sometimes. Not on TV, but in our living room. Kevin and Riley are the usual contestants, although everyone else makes an appearance at least once during the match--except for me. The wrestling that happens here involves tackling, tickling, pinning, laughing, yelling, and of course the traditional snuggie. It seems to go on forever because Riley refuses to ever give up and eggs Kevin on horribly.  No one gets mean or upset and no one gets hurt beyond a few bruises. Elizabeth, however, has a panic attack every time this happens at our house. Yesterday afternoon we had one of these wrestling matches. She spent most of the time running after them and screaming--"That's Riley and I love him!!" She cried and cried and was so disturbed by the whole thing. I told everyone to stop because I felt so bad seeing her so upset. Poor girl. Kevin and the boys were irritated with her wailing.  I spent most of the time sitting beside her and telling her that they were just playing around and that everything was ok. What do I do? I think it is great that she is sensitive and caring--she will make a good mother. But at the same time, the boys like to wrestle around a little. So much for Sunday being a day of rest.

Ahhh...that is so sweet!!! I wish I knew what to tell you. Has Elizabeth played with them so she can see that they aren't being hurt? Maybe she can be the score keeper so that she sees it as a game. Give her a stopwatch and have her time them and whoever's on the top at the end of the time wins a point! I don't know! I think it's cute that she's worried about her brothers though.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe she doesn't realize that they are playing! It would be pretty scary if she thought they were really getting hurt. It's sweet that she's so worried.

That's a good idea, Nancy. I'll try it out next time!!!
